  <description>Wow, its been a while.  Lots has happened since coming back from school.  I&apos;ve been extremely busy, mostly from work, but there was that week with the blow up doll, that was fun.  For those of you who know what i am talking about, you probably also know that things turned out really well, for those of you who don&apos;t this probably sounds more than weird.  Just ask it&apos;s a fun story. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Christmas was pretty boring this year, I enjoyed a few cocktails at my uncles christmas day, so that was a little better than every other year there.  It is so sad to see all those happy beautiful children in such a disgusting situation.  &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Before engaging in the holiday events that day, i read The Bell Jar, this is because i was once told that i reminded someone of the main character, to an extent.  Well i would just like to know to what extent.  For the first couple chapters i actually agreed with this person one hundred percent but as I kept reading, my weak stomach started to ache with the thought that i would remind someone of this book.  I was also thinking that it would be a fun game to make a trivia question out of how many different ways does esther try to kill herself in the book?  The worst part is that, as i said, in the beginning, the i did relate to the character,  more than i would have liked to admit, so what does that mean?  Is the rest what i should be looking forward to?   &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;New Year&apos;s Eve....what i there to say except for that i drank entirely too much and had a lot of fun.  I won a CD, played the tamburine, on stage, with The Man Tom Sartori, and the proceeded to rape him during his break while his girlfriend watched with a nasty look on her face.  OK i didn&apos;t rape him, but close enough, he wanted us, right.  Other events include the drama between my brother and his 3 ex girlfriends that were at the bar, one of which is my bestfriend, one of which he told the week before he never wanted to speak to again because he is in love with her and she just wants to be friends for now.  She doesn&apos;t understand why it is hard for him to just hang out 3-4 days a week.  Hello he&apos;s in love with you!  Girls!  And the other he spent the evening making out with in the corner, which ultimately made the other two not very happy.  Good thing i dont have to deal with love triangles like that.  I ended up talking to some random guy from california and that was a bad decision to say the least.  There were many other events worth mentioning but i will just end it with my mom picking us up at four and my not remembering this the next morning, She filled me in on the details like every good mother would. She told me about the things that came out of my mouth, which no mother should have heard from her daughter, and about my acrobatics in the driveway before making it into the house.  All of which i have no recollection of.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I have a date tonight, i will fill you in on the details later, i think this entry has become too long to handle.  I dont think i should allow this poor guy to fall in love with me though, i am leaving in 2 weeks.  Haha, right.  fall in love with me HA!      HA!               HA!          HA!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;haha</description>

  <description>I must say....i&apos;m a little drunk right now. Not too bad, but there none the less  Ok, the owner of BJs?, ummmmmmm......wants to come home with me???? to my dorm room????? anyone else think thats a little strange?  alright, he&apos;s hott, but ummmmmm..... how old are you? and you want to come back to my dorm room? Now, it&apos;s alright, i think he&apos;s cool as hell, but i just found that a little strange, yet flattering, i dont think i have ever had anyone ask me if they could come home with me come to think of it, how sad is that?  I asked him to watch my friend in the meantime, i had to use the little ladies room, and retrieve my coat, before leaving, he told me it would be no problem. I come back to find him in the bar, i was like, &quot;thanks for watching my friend!&quot; Well turns out he did know where she was, and brought me to her.... that was nice of him! Even though he didn&apos;t &quot;take care of her&quot; like i had requested.  I sure hope someone will take care of me tomorrow night as i expect to be in some sort of condition close to hers. My outlook on life has become sadder and sadder, i dont know where this comes from, as i keep telling myself to have a NEW outlook on life, but things keep seeming to not go my way.  I think i need to go to bed before i start talking about other things&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;can i just mention first that the guy who was putting on wrist bands, actually put it on tight enough so that i couldn&apos;t slide it right off?  Mark it down! First time ever!  Oh well, guess icant add this to the collection of wrist bads. DAMN! Hehe</description>

  <description>i should be studying for my 4 o&apos;clock exam right now, but instead i am watching reruns of dawson&apos;s creek, eating candy, and doing anything else i can possibly do in order to procrastinate.  &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;i finally finished my take home exam, after 3 days of pulling my hair out over it.  Then, moments ago, i read an email from my professor apologizing for some typing errors and basically changing 2 of the questions completely around.  This test is due today, i have another exam today, which i have a feeling i am going to fail miserably as i had all the other exams in that class, i haven&apos;t started to study for it, and now i have to rearrange two of these essay questions.  Did i mention that the take home exam consisted of 17 essay questions, two pages of matching, and a graph that we needed to add lines to?  What an exam!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Come to think of it, i had better get crackin&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;One more thing, i was invited to a party! im not sure if i should actually go though, i feel lately that i have been receiving a lot of empty invitations, i&apos;ve noticed this reocurring pattern. I don&apos;t know......off to study POM....YaY!</description>

  <description>My brother sent me these e-mails, i had no clue he had my e-mail address, i am wondering why he would have sent these to me anyways.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;1. Andy Rooney on Monica. Can you believe it?  Monica turned 28 this week. It seems like only yesterday that she was crawling round the White House on her hands and knees. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;2. Did you know that it costs forty thousand dollars a year to house each prisoner?  Jeez, for forty thousand bucks apiece I&apos;ll take a few prisoners into my house.  I live in Los Angeles.  I already have bars on the windows. I don&apos;t think we should give free room and board to criminals.  I think they should have to run twelve hours a day on a treadmill and generate electricity.   <description>Wen&apos;t to Kiss-mass-bash last night.  Needless to say it was a good waste of time and money.  The whole night which was supposed to be a good time between a few friends turned out to be much more stressful then it needed to be. I never thought it would be so difficult to give away a ticket. The highlight of the evening i must say was the BNL.  As for the other acts.......um, the show was way too long.  Whoever thought that it would be a good idea to have 14,000 people sit around for a half hour, (or longer) to wait for an act who is only playing for 10-15 minutes needs to rethink that theory.  This leads to 8 year olds runnning around you, spilling soda on your head, stepping on your things, and kicking your five dollar beer over.  I think they should just stick to the 2 or 3 headliners and everone will be happy.  I ran into a couple other people who had attended this show at a couple bars afterwards and asked them what they thought of it, they had the same gripes as i did.  So, no, i am not just being a pessimist.  Another thing....can i just say that a conversation between jessica simpson and janet snyder should never be allowed!  Talk about the blind leading the blind, i have never witnessed so much stupidity on one stage in my life.  someone should have taken away their mics.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So i got a good start on my christmas shopping today, im pretty happy about that.  i think all i have left is my brother who i have no clue what to buy for.  He has a list but nothing in my price range!  I wrapped most of the things today.  i cant afford wrapping paper so i used pages out of magazines, it actaully looks really sharp!  you should try it! im impressed with myself!  i just hope everyone else appreciates it.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;On my way back to school today i realized that i never unpacked the totes i brought home this weekend in order for me to bring the rest of my stuff home next weekend!  Im so dumb sometimes.  I also forgot to mail a bunch of stuff that should have been mailed about 4 weeks ago.  Maybe i wont be going to disney after all. Just kidding.  Looks like ill be venturing home sometime this week before the weekend. oh well.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I also enjoyed another jr.whopper with cheese today.  i think this is going to be a new sunday tradition.  Except i dont think i will get cheese anymore.  They microwave it to get the cheese to melt and that makes the bun soggy.  soggy buns encourage me to vomit.  it wasn&apos;t too bad today but now that i know why the buns are suddenly soggy, i will not let that happen anymore.</description>

  <description>ok, so noone needs to pay any attention to the previous entry, except for the one person that it was meant for.  You know who you are.  &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Today has been rather boring.  I went to a review class this morning for calc purposes and then i returned to my room with the intent to finish that paper.  I ended up sleeping for roughly 4 hours instead.  This is like a whole nights sleep.  So i finally drag myself out of bed to get started on summing up the paper when i got an offer to go to the holiday dinner at Erie.  How could i pass that up? so for the second night in a row i ended up eating way too much and becoming extremely tired once again.  I come back, take a half hour nap and then became productive.  It took me all of 20 minutes to finish my work, so here i am with nothing to do.  Everyone else around here has plenty to do, but i don&apos;t.  Does anybody else realize that in exactly 4 weeks i will be on my way to disney world for 7 months?  &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;As of today i have a new outlook on life.</description>

  <description>Background:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In 2001, Drag Kweens Unlimited (DKU) employed 80 dancers in their Las Vegas Studio.  Each dancer was responsible for performing in two shows a night and three shows on Saturdays.  A bi-annual salary was awarded to each dancer based on the number of sessions/years with the company, and their role in the show.  Every six months the dancers go through a strict try-out in order to stay with the show.  These try-outs consist of performing the stage walk, in costume; and also performing a portion of a dance from the show.   If the dancer is voted to stay with the company, they will receive an envelope on their workspace containing a bid for the next six months.  If not, they will receive nothing and then they know to pack up their items. This leaves them with little job security, and a lot of extra stress. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;All costumes are provided for the dancers, along with hair pieces, that they will need for the show.  They are also provided with a 1 ½’ by 2 ½’ mirror, a 150 watt lamp and light-bulbs, and a 1 ½’ by 1’ work space.  The dancers need to supply their own make-up and application supplies on their own.  Each dancer spends on average $50/week on these items.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It is crucial that the dancers stay in peak physical condition due to the grueling routine they must comply with day by day.  It is required by the company for the dancers to stay in a particular weight range, and body shape; any changes in theses things are grounds for dismissal.  They must complete a routine work-out along with the two evening shows daily.  Practices run a total of 5 hours a day.  This does not include weight training and performances. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt; A typical schedule would look something like this:&lt;br /&gt;7:00am: Cardio workout			6:00 pm:  Arrive at Vegas Show Room&lt;br /&gt;9:00am: Weight training			8:00pm:  First show Group 1&lt;br /&gt;11:00am: Rehearsal #1			9:30pm:  First show Group 2&lt;br /&gt;1:30pm: Small meal; short break		11:00pm:  Second show Group 1&lt;br /&gt;3:00pm:  Rehearsal #2			12:30am:  Second show Group 2&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Not only are the schedules of these dancers strict, they must also follow an extremely strict diet in order to not gain any weight.  This is the life of a dancer seven days a week.  Not happy with the strict daily life and the limited amount of job security held by all, Caramel Roe, otherwise known as Christopher Ruppert, was interested in possibly joining a union and had asked the Entertainers Union of Las Vegas Nevada (EULVN) for information on bringing them into the company.  He mentioned his wishes to a fellow cast member during lunch one day, with no actual plans of action, but just as something to talk about.  Caramel’s wishes were to request longer contract periods, and that either the company supply for them their makeup, or that they would receive an increase in pay of fifty dollars per week to cover the costs incurred.  Another issue that concerned Caramel was the feeling of being owned by the company so he also wanted to determine what was to be considered work time and what was to be considered break time.  The head dancer, Trixi Parfait, birth name Timothy Peterson, overheard Caramel talking to this fellow cast member and was disturbed by the idea of somebody interrupting his way of life. Trixi then brought the matter up with the company’s leaders, who were just as unhappy with the idea as he was.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It is clear that the company would be opposed to the EULVN representing the dancers of “Ladies of the Night” as the show was called.    During the period before the election Trixi Parfait confiscated the costume and hair piece of Caramel Roe before a performance, making it impossible for Caramel to perform.  This tainted the work record of his which was previously clean.  Caramel had worked for Drag Kweens Unlimited for 5 years, with no absences reported, or other marks on his record.  There were witnesses of the action Trixi had taken towards Caramel which were reported to the company’s leaders, yet a report was still filed in his record.  No action was taken towards Trixi, who had been with the company for three years and six months, and had two weeks of absences reported in his record from an injury the year before.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Another thing that happened to Caramel Roe is that Trixi would harass him during rehearsals which caused problems among the cast, also called a company.  The Drag Kweens Unlimited Corporation saw that this was coming between the cast of the show and had appointed Trixi to hold a meeting stating that if this is what the union will do to the corporation, then all members should seriously consider voting “No” to union representation.  The meeting was held one day prior to the election and it was during a “break period” of the day.  Some would argue that it was not on company time and others argue that all of their time is company time seeing as how there is a major commitment to the business.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Voting for representation was to take place on June 29, 2001.  This would be the week immediately following the scheduled 6 month try-outs.  The try-outs were held twice a year; they were scheduled for January 20 and June 20, these had been the same dates every year.  Each dancer is judged on his skill, past experience, body shape, and over all stage appearance.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Caramel Roe, after completing his try-out, did not receive an offer this time around because the corporation says there were recent marks on his record for not performing in a show and also that he had gained weight and had no longer had the appearance that they were looking for.  There was said to be a 4 pound weight change in Caramel, yet there was no record of this gain.  On June 30, after the union representation was voted against, Caramel Roe, with the assistance of the Entertainers Union of Las Vegas Nevada, filed charges with the NLRB alleging that his discharge from Drag Kweens Unlimited, which was based on the grounds that his appearance and work ethic have changed was false; and that his discharge had more to do with the corporations anti-union motivations, thus violating Section 8 (a) (1) of the LMRA. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;POSITION OF THE UNION:&lt;br /&gt;The union argues that Caramel Roe was released by the company due to the fact that he showed union interest, which is a direct violation of Section 8 (a) (1).  They argue that there has been no change in Caramel’s appearance and that the company never showed any dislike or drudgery towards him until he showed interest in union representation.   &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt; The union also argues that there was no proof that Caramel spoke to a fellow cast member, and that Caramel had made no actual plans before the problems with Trixi arose.  Another thing the union argued was that the company did have a meeting about it well after it was decided that Caramel no longer was to work for them, so he shouldn’t have been looked at as a threat to the corporation.  This meeting was also considered by the union to have been held on company time, considering testimony from Caramel that stated the company owned each of them and all of their time was company time.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The company claims to have not renewed Caramel’s contract due to a newly tarnished record, because it was feared that this behavior would continue.  There were documented witnesses that stated the events that took place between Trixi and Caramel which was the reasoning for Caramel to have not been prepared.  In this case, the company was well aware that the action of Caramel was not a change in his attitude, but something that should have been looked with understanding.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The union also has a problem with the fact that Caramel was released exactly one week prior to the representation vote.  The union believes that this was to avoid contact between caramel and fellow cast members that would have benefited the union.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;POSITION OF THE COMPANY:&lt;br /&gt;The company holds the position that Caramel Roe’s release was based solely on his change in appearance and his change in work ethic.  They feel they have made the terms of employment clear and that caramel should not be surprised due to the fact that his work ethic has slipped and consequently so would his figure.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The fact that Caramel has been causing problems among the cast for one reason or another was also a reason for his removal from the cast.  He has shown an astounding level of bad attitude toward the corporation and the company feels that this attitude may lead to his record being tarnished to an even greater extent.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The company feels that by no means was Caramel’s non-reinstatement affiliated with the fact that he was interested in bringing union representation into the company. It was clear that Caramel’s performance was slipping and that he had gained a total of four pounds which put him over the required weight range.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The company also argues that the timing had nothing more to do with the termination then being right after the try-outs.  Seeing as how try-outs are held at the same time every rotation the timing just happens to be coincidental.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;DECISION OF ADMINISTRATVIE LAW JUDGE:&lt;br /&gt;On August 21, 2001, this case was heard by Administrative Law Judge David W. Hinemann, in Las Vegas Nevada.  Hinemann issued the decision that the company was not justified in the termination of Caramel Parfait on the grounds that the company’s policies were undocumented and inconsistent.  The fact that Caramel did not receive a bid for the next session based on the fact that his appearance had changed with the consideration that he has gained 4 pounds is irrelevant on the basis that there is no record of the change.  There was also no record of any actual conversation between Caramel and any fellow cast member, and the record of incident between he and Trixi was misrepresented.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The fact that the company was aware of the incident between Trixi and Caramel, and took no action towards Trixi shows inconsistency within the company, and therefore the mark against Caramel should not be considered as a change of attitude.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The timing was also very suspicious when looking at the scenario.  The fact that the bids went out a week before the representational vote seems as if the company was just using this as any easy way to get Caramel out of the way during the voting period.  &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Upon reviewing the facts it is clear that the motive of Drag Kweens Unlimited was to release Caramel from the vicinity due to his interest in forming a labor organization.  Section 8 (a) (1) of the National Labor Relations Act says it is an unfair labor practice for an employer to interfere with, restrain, or coerce employees in the right to join, form or assist labor organizations.  Clearly the company leaders of Drag Kweens Unlimited violated these standards.</description>

  <description>So here is my very own first journal entry, i&apos;m not sure if anybody is actually going to read it other than the one person who said he was going to, but here goes nothin anyway.  Haha.  This is kind of a weird feeling, something i thought i wanted but now that i actually have it, im wondering who the heck im talking to.....?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So this morning i roll out of bed at about 11:30, little late for me, but considering the past week, i let it slide.  Immediately after rising, my suitemate strolls in my room looking like she got ran over by a mack truck.  She shows me her hands, knees, and arm which are all bruised, swollen,and filled with gravel.  She then proceeds to tell me she thinks she broke her thumb, which for a saxaphone major, the week before exams, is not the greatest thing that can happen. The real story consists of her racing to the car with another suitemate in canada and tripping over a concrete block in the middle of the gravel parking lot. I suggest to her that she might want to go to the health center, to get the gravel out at least, and she hesitates, so i offer to go with her.  She is shocked at the offer and takes me up on it.  We walk over there, only to find out people dont get sick or injured on sundays and the health center is closed.  At this point i offer to bring her to the emergency room, and again she takes me up on my offer.  I never thought i could sit through so many episodes of Family Ties, but hey, at least there was a TV.  I noticed a magazine to my left and decide maybe i could find some interesting reads while i wait.  First mag i pick up, Better Homes and Gardens, May 1987.  Okay well that&apos;s an old one, let me grab the next one in the pile, Birds and Trees, or something along the lines was the title of that one, November 1983.  And the pattern continues.  Good thing i picked up on the yellowish looking pages before i started taking fashion advice!  so i think, well thats what i get at the dunkirk emergency room, and go back to the 4th episode of Family Ties.  My mind starts to wander and i find myself thinking of how wonderful a Whopper would be, ask me when i started to eat burgers and i couldn&apos;t tell you, but for some reason i just could not stop thinking about a whopper.  So from here on i start to plan my route to BK.  I was just going to leave but figured with murphy&apos;s law and all, if i left she would come out 2 minutes later and wonder where the heck i am, so i stay, and stare at the clock, and watch 2 more episodes of Family Ties, all the while salivating for my whopper with cheese.  Finally she comes out and we go to BK.  What a great story huh?  This was the highlight of my day.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I had a few other interesting things happen today,including an interesting phone call just recieved at 10:30, but i just realized that my whopper story was longer than necessary. Turns out talking to myself wasn&apos;t as hard as it originally felt!  &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;P.S.  i&apos;m actually not horny right now, surprisingly, i just thought it was a funny option at the time...*shrug*+*smile*</description>
